Now that you are feeling your best, it's time to look your best!  Simple non-surgical injections can improve the look of your skin by diminishing lines and wrinkles.  The injections are administered by our physicians and are FDA-approved for frown line improvement.  Results commonly last between three to six months.

Botox® Cosmetic (onabutulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine injected into muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines in people 18-65 years of age for temporary effects.  Botox® was the first FDA-Approved botulinum toxin to temporarily improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles.  Results should last up to four months and have a satisfaction rate over 95% since May 2011.

What is Botox?®

Botox® is a neurotoxin produced by a bacterial toxin botulin, used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles.

How is Botox® used?

A few drops of Botox® are injected with a tiny needle into the muscle that creates a wrinkle. When Botox® is injected into a muscle, it blocks the nerve impulse from reaching that area and, as a result, the muscle relaxes.

Does a Botox® injection hurt?

When Botox is injected, there is a minor stinging for a few seconds. Once the injection is complete, there is usually no discomfort.

Where can Botox® be injected?

The most common areas for the use of Botox® are the frown lines between the eyebrows, the horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet. Botox® may also be used in the neck to improve the appearance of jowling or in the palms or underarms to reduce sweating.

How long does the Botox® treatment last?

The effects of Botox® usually last three to five months, at which time another injection is required. After several treatments, the effects of Botox® may begin to last longer, sometimes up to six to eight months.

How safe is Botox®?

Botox® has been used safely and successfully for wrinkle therapy since 2002. In the amounts used for wrinkle therapy, the side effects are rare.  BOTOX® Cosmetic may cause loss of strength or general muscle weakness, vision problems, or dizziness within hours to weeks of taking BOTOX® Cosmetic. If this happens, do not drive a car, operate machinery, or do other dangerous activities.
Serious and/or immediate allergic reactions have been reported. They include: itching, rash, red itchy welts, wheezing, asthma symptoms, or dizziness or feeling faint. Get medical help right away if you are wheezing or have asthma symptoms, or if you become dizzy or faint

Juvéderm® XC is the only FDA-approved HA filler that lasts up to 1 year with only one treatment!  With long-lasting Juvéderm® XC, you can treat parentheses lines on the sides of your nose and mouth for up to 1 year with a single treatment.  No other hyaluronic acid (HA) filler can say that.

With Juvéderm® XC injectable gel, your doctor customizes your treatment for you, and gives you the instant, natural-looking results you want.  Juvéderm® XC has unique Hylacross™ technology, which gives Juvéderm® XC its special smooth-gel consistency, unlike the regular granular consistency of other HA fillers.  You'll get a smooth, natural look and feel that holds up over time, so everyone will notice (but no one will know!!).

You can experience Juvéderm® XC injectable gel with a quick, in-office procedure and minimal downtime.  During treatment, our physian will ease Juvéderm® XC under your skin to smooth out the moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.  You'll see the difference instantly!

WHAT IS JUVÉDERM®?

Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a “next-generation” smooth consistency gel dermal filler that helps to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Juvéderm™ comes in two formulations—Juvéderm™ Ultra and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus.

What does Juvéderm® do?

Juvéderm™ injectable gel temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face.

What is Juvéderm® indicated for?

Juvéderm™ Ultra and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus injectable gels are indicated for injection into the mid to deep dermis (below the outer layer of skin) for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the creases running from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).

How is Juvéderm® injectable gel different from BOTOX® Cosmetic?

Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a “next generation” hyaluronic acid dermal filler that provides volume and is used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from a loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin such as perioral lines and nasolabial folds (lines around your mouth and nose). Juvéderm™ restores your skin’s volume for a smooth, natural look and feel. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a filler. BOTOX® Cosmetic relaxes muscle activity and is used to treat moderate to severe lines caused by the dominant frown muscles between the eyebrows (the glabellar area). This allows the two vertical lines between the brows, often referred to as the “11,” to temporarily diminish for a smoother appearance.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all mammals that helps to hydrate and add volume to your skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair.

Juvederm is commonly used to enhance lips as shown below.
